Susanna’s Bridal Bouquet – Simply Purple, Stunningly Beautiful

Susanna is getting married in Punta Cana, but before she flies to the south for her destination wedding, she is having her civil ceremony in Toronto.  To keep things simple, Susanna ordered a purple bridal bouquet for herself only.

There are not that many types of purple seasonal flower around during the winter months, but iris is one of the few available ones.  Although the shape of the flower is very pretty and unique, iris is not an easy flower to work with.  Iris has a very short vase life, and it is extremely sensitive to humidity changes.  To ensure the iris would not open up too quickly, we have wired each iris individually to control its bloom size.  We have also conditioned them thoroughly to ensure their petals retain its moisture and would not wrinkle-up.

Here are some photo of the happy couple and the bouquet.  Enjoy!

We are glad that Susanna loves her bridal bouquet.  Below is a thank-you letter from the bride.

How to Choose Your Perfect Bridal Bouquet

The bridal bouquet is one of the most important and beautiful elements in any wedding.  The perfect bouquet should enhance the beauty of your gown, complement your body, and set the tone for the wedding.

Bridal bouquet now comes in all colours, shapes, and styles.  They can also be made with fresh or silk flowers.  Some brides prefer to use fresh flowers because they smell nice, while others choose to use silk flowers because they are everlasting.  What you choose to use is totally personal, since both types are equally popular.

However, what you wear on your big day and how self-conscious you are, will hugely influence the style of bouquet you should choose.  In general:

Cascade Bouquet — The most traditional and formal style. Best for taller and fuller figures; compliments A-line gowns or dresses with a train.

Overarm Bouquet — A less common style for today’s wedding.  Best for slim figures; compliments long and skinny dress styles.
